Very interesting experiment! Thanks for sharing the results! The Axim segment sounded very clear.

For live field recording, as well as having a great USB desk mike, I suggest the Zoom H2. I've used one for about nine months now, and really enjoy it. You can hear some samples at my podcast, http://podcast.insightcruises.com/.

Yay! Fantastic. Great music, of course. For field recording, as you know, I've got a Edirol R-1. There've been updates and new models, but it's served me well. No complaints.
